Flexible Teaching Options in Ecuador
ESLstarter is currently inviting passionate educators to apply for English teaching positions in public schools throughout the dramatic Coast region of Ecuador. We offer two distinct pathways:
- Long-Term Placement: 10 Months (October Start) – Highly Recommended for maximum community impact.
- Short-Term Placement: 5 Months (February Start).

Benefits - Short term position
- Same as above but one-way air-ticket from Ecuador to corresponding country provided on contract completion. The flight to Ecuador will be covered by the volunteer.

Program Commitment Deposit: Upon placement approval, a fully refundable deposit of $500 is required. This secures your position, allows local staff to finalize your flight logistics, and demonstrates your commitment to the program. The deposit is returned in full upon successful completion of your contract.
The deposit is fully refundable upon completion of contract.
The deposit is non-refundable if the teacher decides to cancel or withdraw from the program at any time and for any reason.
Your Role as a Teacher in Ecuador
As a Volunteer English Teacher, you will be an ambassador for your country, working closely with local students and staff to boost their confidence in English.
- Teaching Hours: Approximately 30 classroom hours (45-minute sessions) plus 10 hours for lesson planning and school activities.
- Flexible Shifts: Positions available in both morning and afternoon shifts.
- Student Demographic: Teach students aged 5–18, with class sizes up to 40 students.
- Community Engagement: Participate in Ministry of Education events and professional training sessions.
Locations: Explore the Coast
Placements are located throughout the vibrant Coast (Costa) region of Ecuador, known for its pristine Pacific beaches, tropical climate, and lively local culture.
Requirements
- Fluent English speakers (at least B2 level)
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- TEFL/TESOL certification preferred - get a special discount on your TEFL course here
- Cultural sensitivity
- Be of no criminal record
- Holding a passport with at least 1 year validity
